Over at the
BuzzMachine
, Jeff Jarvis blogged about some similarity between Christian and Muslim
religious “fanatics”.
The article is
Our American Taliban
While often a discussion on this topic degenerates into an apples and
oranges comparison shouting match (”How could you possibly equate someone
who wants to stop all non-married people living together to someone who cuts
the hands off theives!!”), there is some truth in there somewhere.
Our founding fathers fretted about the separation of church and state
not because they thought the state shouldn’t give any money to religion but
because they didn’t want the “clerics” making the decisions.
God fearing men must run the secular government, but the governement
does not do things because it is God’s law.

Easter Dinner at Grandma’s
was enjoyed by my mother, all her sons, wifes and kids, kids fiances and spouses and a collection of grandkids.
Much good food with a game of pool, Easter egg hunt and bocci ball.

As part of our
Polish Easter traditions
, each year, we take some of the food we are cooking for Easter to
St Stanislaus Church
to be blessed.
Most of the service is in Polish so us people who only married a
Polish girl and who didn’t grow up in a Polish house, just sit and
enjoy the Catholic iconery.
Picture collection.

Today I took my camera on the weekly
Portland Fit
training run.
We’re training for the
Portland Marathon
. The marathon is in October so we have a ways to go…
today’s run was a mere 5 miles.
So, after taking many standing rest-stops, I have a
collection of pictures
.

Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax and
get used to the idea.

Two of our cats have longish hair with thick under hair. Hair mats is the result. So the groomer said the only thing to do was shave the offending hair.
Shaved cats
now inhabit our house.

I’m up rather early here. I as smart and set my clock ahead one hour for daylight savings time. But, it seems that my clock is a “smart” kind — it knows how to adjust itself for daylight saving time!! So, the little computer in the clock also set clock ahead an hour for daylight savings time. That makes it two.
Lord save us from “smart” appliances.

A British view from the
Guardian Unlimited on
How to Save the Brand America.
Even our friends have some questions about our motives.
Interesting
reports on the war in Iraq
proported to be from the Russion
GRU
over at
Venik’s Aviation. I don’t have a clue how real they are but they are more or less accurate and they provide a different view.
And Christopher Allbritton is in Turkey and trying to get into Iraq as an independent, “blog journalist”.
Check out his entries at
Back to Iraq 2.0.
If you’re really keen at supporting the independence if the Internet
(a opposed to it’s slow assimilation by the Big Guys)
support Christopher by
