A short hop from Charleston, South Carolina is Myrtle Beach. Here are pictures of the kids splashing in the Atlantic. They thought a place with waves that you could easily swim in was a great idea (the ocean off the Oregon coast is VERY cold).
For those that have never been here, this place is a tourist trap for miles. Along the main commercial strip there are miniature golf places every two blocks and T-shirt stores every block -- I'm not exaggerating!
We also experienced the best thunderstorm of the whole trip
here in Myrtle Beach.
